Gravity/Trench Percolation area
A typical gravity/Trench percolation system comprises of a distribution box and a series of trenches excavated in the existing or imported soils. Percolation pipes are placed in the trenches and surrounded by suitably sized stone which is covered by a layer of Geo-textile material and finally covered with soil materials up to ground level
Pressurised Polishing Filter
Pressurised Percolation systems are usually used where there are space restrictions on-site or site specific conditions such as high water table etc dictate. Pressurised distribution is a more efficient method of distributing effluent onto sand and soil polishing filters and so requires a considerably smaller area for which to install.
